Like so many other children from Ningdu who arrive home with elevated lead levels, our daughter entered the United States and immediately tested high. Although her pediatrician said that additional blood tests would be administered every six months, we were left with little information on what could help to reduce her lead levels.
Several interesting online sources provide information that can serve as a starting point for parents concerned with elevated lead levels in their son or daughter. The Orphan Doctor, Cigna's Topic Overview, and Dr. Reilly's commentary on adoption.com are worthy reads.
